In 2020, I had the chance to pitch a “coming out” story to the creators/showrunners of Craig of the Creek - one that was inspired by my childhood. Growing up as a young gay kid in the 90’s felt rather isolating and superheroes felt very comforting - especially the aspect of hiding your “secret identity”. Characters like Batman, and especially Catwoman, felt very relatable. To my surprise, it ended up getting produced. I had the opportunity to Character Design the entire episode and Color Design the various palettes to make the fantasy sequences feel like an homage to old Batman series.
